9 months in South America and North America

When I was in my early 30's, I made a promise to myself : "Girl, by 35, I want you to do be in a place that you would have chosen, not imposed on by the routine ! It can be a new home, a new city, a new job, but it needs to make you happy and you need to enjoy your life !". It is only lately that I have remembered that promise... I'm now 35 and I have realised that I'm the only one responsible for my own happiness. So I have quit my comfortable job in London and decided to go on another adventure...

Jericoacoara, petit paradis / Jericoacoara, little paradise

-------------------------------

I had already tested the hammocks, but over there the hammocks in the water, it's a different level ! With the lagunas hidden between the dunes of sand, we are effectively in Jericoacoara on the North of Brazil, located inside a National Park and accessible only with a jeep ride through the dunes.

Our feet in the water and seated at a restaurant table, we make ourselves very comfortable. As we do not understand the menu, the waiter presents to us a tray to ease our order : a big fish to grill, some prawns to fry or 3 lobsters to grill. The cheapest option? 3 lobsters for £25. The choice will be easy.

During the evenings on the beach some Capoeira competitions get improvised. I had always thought that this Africo-Brazilian martial art was practised with very slow movements for esthetic reasons. It is indeed the case at the start of the fight...but once that the rythm of the chants and the instruments has increased, the speed of the fighters' gestures follows. And then it becomes impressive as that their arms and legs would almost brushed past us (watch the video until the end).
