9 months in South America and North America

When I was in my early 30's, I made a promise to myself : "Girl, by 35, I want you to do be in a place that you would have chosen, not imposed on by the routine ! It can be a new home, a new city, a new job, but it needs to make you happy and you need to enjoy your life !". It is only lately that I have remembered that promise... I'm now 35 and I have realised that I'm the only one responsible for my own happiness. So I have quit my comfortable job in London and decided to go on another adventure...

La Mitad Del Mundo : The Middle of the World ! The Equator line, at the Latitud 0, is located 20km in the North of Quito, the capital. In 1736, a French man, Charles-Marie de la Contamine came here in Ecuador to measure the exact location of the Equator line. Well, ok, he made of mistake of 240 meters, but what are 240 meters on the scale of the World and with the technology during those days !
The civilisations pre-hispanic, long time before, already knew that Quito was in the center of the world : the name Quito comes from the combination of the words Quitso (centre) and To (of the World). Thanks to the peaks of the volcanos and mountains around, they found out that Quito was located at the middle of the Earth ! Quito, at 2820 meters high, is the city which is the closest to the Sun, no other city on the Equator line being as high.
